Saints celebrated on the 29th of June
Saint Leolinus and Hilarius were bishops of Padua. Leolinus, also called Leoninus and Leonius, but popularly referred to as Violinus, was the 11th bishop of this city. His place of birth is unknown. Leolinus was a contemporary of the pagan emperor Maximin.
His life radiated far and wide the splendour of holiness. He was buried in a stone coffin at the oratory of Saint Prosdocimus at first, and from there translated into a church named after him, which still exists. Ughellus* reckons that Leolinus sat on the episcopal chair between the years 232 and 244. Zedler*, who places his episcopate around A.D. 245, lists this holy bishop on November 7.
