THOMAS CONIERS, MISSIONARY
Thomas Coniers (Conierus), descended from a respected English family, had to leave his fatherland for his faith and entered the Society of Jesus at Douai [France].
His superiors asked him to conduct missions in the towns and countryside of Douai, Dinant, Sedan and in the Ardennes. God alone knows how much good he has done by preaching, praying, and edifying example; people have given him the honorary title "Apostle of the Ardennes". He died at Bastogne at the age of 77. (Ram.)
