Saints celebrated on the 11th of May
SAINT EUDALDUS, MARTYR
Saint Eudaldus, a Lombard by birth, came to that part of Aquitaine which the ancients called Novempopulania (between the Garonne and the Pyrenees). Because of his Christian faith, the barbarians murdered him at the place called Auch (Augusta Ausciorum, Climberrum).
His martyrdom took place in the 8th century. In A.D. 974 his relics were translated to the monastery of Ripol in Catalonia, a northeastern province of Spain, and in 1004 to the newly built church there, where Eudaldus enjoyed public veneration. (I. 640)
