ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN FEBRUARY
Saints celebrated on the 10th of February
Saint Paschasius was abbot of Lesina on the lake of the same name in the Naples area, Italy. In A.D. 1598, his relics were solemnly translated to the Church of Maria Annunciata in Naples. The diocese of Naples celebrates his memorial with a special Mass. Apart from these facts, we do not have any details about his life and work. The Bollandists* suggest that he might be the same person as the seventh abbot of Monte Vergine, who was called Paschasius, and that he died on a pilgrimage to Gargano and was therefore buried in Lesina. Assuming this theory to be correct, he must have died about A.D. 700. This Saint Paschasius is not mentioned in the Roman Martyrology* (II. 491).
