Saints celebrated on the 26th of July
SAINT KELIUS, ABBOT
Saint Kelius [Celedaibhall], commemorated on July 26 [September 14], was abbot and confessor in Ireland, the son of Scandalius, surnamed Daballus. He belonged to the monastery of Bangor in the British principality of Wales, which was extraordinarily rich in saints.
There he held the office of professor and doctor for a long time because of his exceptional scholarship. Elevated to the rank of abbot because of his no less distinguished sanctity, he shone with a wealth of merit. He made a pilgrimage to Rome and died there, in the 59th year of his life, a blessed death in 927. (Buc. Suppl.)
