Saints celebrated on the 24th of June
SAINT GERANUS, HERMIT
Saint Geranus, (June 24), a penitent and hermit in Egypt, succumbed to a devilish temptation in his earlier life. Stricken with remorse, he spent the remainder of his earthly pilgrimage in penance. He is said to have lived on an island on the Nile.
Geranus is mentioned in the Coptic Martyrology* alongside a martyr called Martha. They are venerated in Ethiopia. Of his companion Martha nothing seems to be known but her name. (II. 814.)
