Saints celebrated on the 13th of June
SAINT ARDAGNUS, ABBOT
Saint Ardagnus (Ardaing in French) was, according to Mabillon* and other hagiographers, abbot of Tournus (Trenorchium) near Chalons (Cabilonum) in Burgundy.
However, since all papers were lost in a monastery fire caused by the Calvinists, nothing more is known about him than that he donated ample alms at the time of a great famine and ruled his monastery in an exemplary manner for 28 years.
Saint Ardagnus died in 1056 and was always highly venerated: according to an old calendar three times a year, namely on February 11 as the anniversary of his death, then on June 13 and October 5, on which days translations of his relics took place. (Mab.)
