VENERABLE ANTONIO JOSE FERREIRA VICOSO, BISHOP OF MARIANA Venerable Antonio Vicoso Antonio Jose Ferreira Vicoso (Antônio José Ferreira Viçoso) was born on May 13, 1787, in Peniche in Portugal. He was ordained a priest of the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentians) in Lisbon on March 7, 1818. In 1819, the Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission, responding to a request from Bishop João VI for priests to Brazil, sent the young Father Vicoso and his confrere, Father Leandro Rabelo de Castro. Soon engaged in the education of the youth, Fr Vicoso spent 15 years in Jacuecanga, near Angra dos Reis. On his return to Minas (1837), he was elected Superior of the Congregation of the Mission in Brazil. BLESSED DOMITIAN, DUKE OF CARINTHIA  Blessed Domitian Blessed Domitian (8th century), also known as Domitian of Millstatt or Domitian of Carinthia , is regarded as a promoter of Christianity in Carinthia [Austria]. Relics attributed to him are housed in the Domitian Chapel, which was added to the collegiate church of Millstatt Abbey in 1492. The history of his veneration is documented in a dedicated room at the Abbey Museum in Millstatt. For instance, a 9th-century fragment - believed to be part of his original funerary inscription - can be viewed there. A Romanesque reliquary shrine has also survived. A "Domitian Trail" ( Domitianweg ) has been established within the parish of Millstatt; part of this trail is a 1994 sculpture by Giorgio Igne depicting Blessed Domitian, which was installed in Lake Millstatt.   WELCOME! KILLENUS, ABBOT OF IONA Killenus ( July 3 ), Abbot of Hy (Hia, Ia) [Iona], is not to be confused with Saint Kellenus or Mochellus , who are listed under March 26 . Kelly * refers to him simply as Cilline Ab. Iae (Iona). Gorman * calls him Kellenus Droichtheach and states that he was a chaste and distinguished warrior who died in the year 747. However, as there is no firm evidence of his veneration, the Bollandists * have included him only among their Praetermissi (those omitted from the main calendar) (I. 631). BLESSED DIDACUS YUKI, PRIEST AND MARTYR Didacus Yuki, a  Jesuit , won the crown of martyrdom in 1636 at the age of 62 in Osaka, Japan. He was so inflamed with zeal upon witnessing idolatrous sacrifices that he publicly confronted Emperor Julian, reproached him for his idolatry, and mocked the sacrifices offered to idols; ultimately, after enduring cruel tortures, he was beheaded. SAINT MOCELLOC, HERMIT Saint Mocelloc ( Mocellocus, Mochellocus ), ( March 7 ), was, according to Colgan *, one of the seven legendary hermits under the leadership of Saint Declan in the region of the Déisi near Lismore, and would thus have lived towards the end of the fifth century. He appears in the Martyrology of Tallaght * and in Gorman* ; the Bollandists * omit him. ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN NOVEMBER Saints celebrated on the 12th November WELCOME! SAINT CRAPHAILDES, MARTYR Saint Craphaildes (also spelled Craphailde or Crafahilde ) is an early Christian martyr from the 7th century, primarily recognised in the Catholic tradition of the Low Countries (modern-day Belgium and the Netherlands). She is closely linked to the story of  Saint Livinus (Saint Livin), an Irish bishop and missionary. According to traditional hagiography,  Saint Livinus   was hosted at the home of Craphaildes in the area of Brabant (near modern-day Ghent, Belgium). When a band of pagan barbarians attacked and brutally killed  Livinus , Craphaildes openly condemned the murderers and lamented his death. Enraged by her protests, the same attackers murdered Craphaildes along with her infant son, Brictius (or Brice). Her remains, alongside those of her son and  Saint Livinus , were historically translated to the Saint Peter's Abbey in Ghent around the year 10...

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JUNE Saints celebrated on the 20th of June WELCOME! SAINT IDA OF GHENT, WIDOW AND MARTYR This Saint Ida, commemorated on  June 20 , was buried in the Church of St John in Ghent - now the capital of the Belgian province of East Flanders - and was held in high veneration there. However, when the highly renowned and authentic relics of Saints  Bavo and  Livinus , as well as other saints, were brought there, the church (which is the cathedral) was given the name of  Saint Bavo , causing the memory of Saint Ida to recede significantly into the background. Later, when the famous exegete Cornelius Jansenius - appointed the first Bishop of Ghent in 1567 - inspected the coffins of his church (which had been hidden during a time of persecution), he found an inscription on one of them reading: " Relics of the holy virgin and martyr Ida. BLESSED GODEFRID, BISHOP OF LANGRES Godefrid ( Godefridus , Gofridus, [Godfrey]) (feast days:  July 15  or July 22 ;  November 8 or November 13 ) - Prior (or, according to some, Abbot) of Clairvaux and subsequently Bishop of Langres ( Lingones ), is listed as " Blessed Godefridus " by Chalemot * on  November 8 , and others ( the Sammarthani ) accord him a form of veneration by including him in their work ( Gallia christiana* ) under  November 13 . Lechner * lists him under the name Godfrid on  July 22 , also assigning him the title " Blessed ."
