Saints celebrated on the 28th of June
SAINT PAPIUS, MARTYR
Today, we also commemorate Saint Papius. The Roman Martyrology states:
"The same day, during the persecution of Diocletian, Saint Papius, martyr, who was scourged with knotted cords, cast into a caldron of seething oil and grease, and after other horrible torments, was decapitated, and thus won an eternal crown."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Papius may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
