Saints celebrated on the 24th of July
WELCOME!
BLESSED GIOVANNI TAVELLI, BISHOP OF FERRARA
Giovanni Tavelli [John Tavelli] (b. at Tossignano, 1386; d. at Ferrara, July 24, 1446) was an Italian Catholic bishop, venerated as Blessed by the Catholic Church. A member of the Apostolic Clerics of Saint Jerome, which were started by John Colombini, from July 2, 1408 onwards, he is remembered in the history of this order - which is also known as the Gesuati - for having written its constitutions, thereby initiating the process that transformed the Gesuati from a loose association of laypeople into a mendicant order.

PRAYER:
O God, who gladden us each year by the feast of the blessed Bishop Giovanni, graciously grant that, as we rejoice in his merits, we may be inspired by his example. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
