RICHARD OF ARNSBERG, RELIGIOUS
![]() |
| Scriptorium Monk at Work |
Richard, of the Premonstratensian Order, occupied himself with copying books for God's sake in his monastery in Arnsberg, Diocese of Cologne, and composed a biography of Saint Ursula. This is why, as Caesarius of Heisterbach (d. 1240) reports, his right hand was found in the grave 20 years later, still fresh, while his body had long since decayed. He lived in the late 12th century.
