The Roman Martyrology states: "In Persia, in the reign of King Sapor, the holy martyrs Zanitas, Lazarus, Marotas, Narses, and five others , who merited the palm of martyrdom by being barbarously murdered." PRAYER: Grant to your Church, we beseech you, O Lord, through the intercession of your holy martyrs Zanitas and Companions, not to think high-mindedly, but to grow in humility pleasing to you; that, despising what is base, she may with unbounded love diligently do whatever is right.
