  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN APRIL Saints celebrated on the 9th of April SAINT WALTRUDE OF MONS Today, we also commemorate Saint Waltrude. The Roman Martyrology states:  "At Mons, in Hainaut, blessed Waltrude, renowned for holiness of life and miracles." PRAYER: Grant to your Church, we beseech you, O Lord, through the intercession of Saint Waltrude, not to think high-mindedly, but to grow in humility pleasing to you; that, despising what is base, she may with unbounded love diligently do whatever is right. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN APRIL Saints celebrated on the 9th of April WELCOME! ST WALTRUDE, WIDOW  (Or Vautrude [Waltraud], commonly called Vaudru.) Saint Waltrude was daughter to the princess Saint Bertille , elder sister to Saint Aldegonde , and wife to Madelgaire, count of Hainault, and one of the principal lords of King Dagobert’s court.  ST VINCENT OF SOIGNIES After bearing him two sons and two daughters, she induced him to embrace the monastic state at Haumont, near Maubeuge, taking the name of Vincent. He is honoured in Flanders among the saints on September 20, and called St Vincent of Soignies.  She remained two years longer in the world, devoting herself entirely to exercises of piety, under the direction of the holy abbot St Guislain.  SHE TOOK THE VEIL Being by that time disengaged from the encumbrances of the world, she received the religious veil at the hands of St Aubert, bishop of Cambray, in 656, and lived in a little cell, adjoining to which w...
