ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MARCH
Saints celebrated on the 14th of March
SAINT FLORENTINA, VIRGIN
A native of Cartagena, Spain, Saint Florentina (memorial: March 14, June 20) was born into a family of saints.
Her brothers, saints Leander of Seville, Isidore of Seville, and Fulgentius, became bishops.
SHE TOOK THE BENEDICTINE VEIL
After being schooled by her brothers, Florentina consecrated her virginity to God, taking the Benedictine veil. Her brother Leander composed a rule of religious life for her. Isidore wrote for her two treatises on the state of consecrated virginity.
Traditionally Florentina has been commemorated on March 14. She died in 633.
"Happy indeed is the man
who follows not the counsel of the wicked;
nor lingers in the way of sinners
nor sits in the company of scorners,
but whose delight is the law of the Lord
and who ponders his law day and night."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Florentina may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
