WELCOME!
SAINT FULGENTIUS, BISHOP OF ECIJA
Saint Fulgentius was born in Seville, where his parents - the military prefect Severian and Theodora, the daughter of the Ostrogothic king Theodoric - were exiled from Carthage for the sake of the Catholic faith. The saint received a careful education and was well-instructed in Greek, Syriac, Hebrew, Gothic, Latin, Italian, and Arabic. His learning and virtues led him to the episcopal sees of Carthagena and Ecija (Astigi). His holy death occurred after the year 619, and his body was transferred to Seville. Bucelin* lists this saint on October 8.
