Saints celebrated on the 21st of January

HERMANN VON GERSTHAGEN, PRIEST 

Hermannus, (commemorated on January 21 and January 26) was a priest of the Minorite order, who died - according to the Bollandists - at "Mühlhausen in Germany" in the year 1287. 

HIS VIRTUES AND MIRACLES ENJOY LASTING FAME

Other writers add that he was called Hermann von Gersthagen, and that the place of his death was Mühlhausen in Saxony on the river Unstrut. 

His virtues and marvels are praised by Wadding and many other authors. 

BLESSED HERMANN?

The writers of his order count him among the "blessed"; but the Bollandists, to whom his public veneration has not been established with sufficient certainty, name Hermannus among the Praetermissis.
