SAINT LEOBINUS, BISHOP OF CHARTRES
Saint Leobinus, also known as Lubin, was a 6th century bishop. [His feast day is stated also as September 15] Born near Poitiers, early in the sixth century, he in his youth embraced the religious life; but eventually, much against his will, was made Bishop of Chartres.
HE GOVERNED HIS DIOCESE WISELY AND WELL
He governed that diocese wisely and well. He assisted at the fifth Council of Orleans (A.D. 549) and at that of Paris (A.D. 551). He was called to his reward in A.D. 557, Almighty God by many miracles revealing his sanctity. His relics, until then enshrined in a church near Chartres, were burned by the Calvinists in the sixteenth century.

PRAYER:
O God, who gladden us each year by the feast of St Leobinus, your blessed bishop, graciously grant that, as we rejoice in his merits, we may be inspired by his example. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
