Saints celebrated on the 31st of July
MARTYRS OF SYRIA
Today, we also commemorate The Martyrs of Syria. The Roman Martyrology states:
"In Syria, three hundred and fifty monks, who became martyrs by being slain by the heretics for defending the Council of Chalcedon."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of The Martyrs of Syria may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
