ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MARCH
Saints celebrated on the 17th of March
Julia was a virgin at a monastery of Thebais and teacher of Saint Eupraxia, in whose life she is frequently mentioned by the Bollandists* (March 13 - II. 264-274). She read Psalms and prayed with her, talked to her about spiritual things, praised her fasting and recommended further progress.
When Saint Eupraxia died, Julia was heartbroken, weeping for three entire days. On the fourth day, however, Julia became happy once more, went to the abbess and asked her for her prayers, because God had called her to Himself at the intercession of Eupraxia. Then she kissed all the sisters. On the fifth day she died and was laid in the same tomb as Saint Eupraxia.
In some Carmelite calendars, an Antonia is mentioned as the teacher of Saint Eupraxia; but presumably this was the abbess, who in Greek has the name Theodula.
