ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN NOVEMBER
Saints celebrated on the 1st of November
SAINT BENIGNUS, PRIEST AND MARTYR
Today, we also commemorate Saint Benignus. The Roman Martyrology states:
"At Dijon, Saint Benignus, a priest, who was sent to France by blessed Polycarp to preach the Gospel. After he had been subjected to many most grievous torments, by the judge Terentius, under the emperor Marcus Aurelius, he was finally condemned to have his neck struck with an iron bar and his body pierced with a lance."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Benignus may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
