Saints celebrated on the 29th of December
SAINT TROPHIMUS, BISHOP OF ARLES
Today, we also commemorate Saint Trophimus, bishop. The Roman Martyrology states:
"At Arles, the birthday of Saint Trophimus, mentioned by Saint Paul in his Epistle to Timothy. Being consecrated bishop by that Apostle, he was the first sent to preach the Gospel of Christ in that city. From his preaching as from a fountain, according to the expression of Pope Saint Zosimus, all Gaul received the waters of salvation."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Trophimus, your blessed bishop, may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
