SAINT PATERIUS, BISHOP OF BRESCIA 

Saint Paterius lived in the 7th century. A Roman monk, he was a disciple of Saint Gregory the Great. He was made Bishop of Brescia in Lombardy and has left us Commentaries on both the Old and the New Testaments. He passed away (A.D. 606) in great fame of sanctity.

Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Paterius, your blessed bishop, may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
