The name Celer is derived from the Latin celer, meaning the fast one, the nimble one.
Saint Celer (Cerealis), Pupillus (Pupulus), Serapion, Justus, Claudianus (Claudius), Theophilus, Victorinus, Saturninus, Eppolus, Euthecla, Astuta, Mustila, Alexander, Victor, Secundella, Caius and Felix died as martyrs in Alexandria.
