ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN NOVEMBER
Saints celebrated on the 30th of November
Saints Atreban [Attreban] (Attrobatanus, Attrabentanus, Attrebandus), Benjamin and Evingus, to whom Bucelin* adds Saint Grisoldus, were, as the Elenchus* details, students of Saint Willehad, Bishop of Bremen and Apostle of Saxony (November 8). These holy disciples died a martyr's death.
According to Butler* (XVI. p. 282), they were called Emming, Benjamin, Atreban, and also joined by a Gerival. Companions in suffering of the priest Folkard, they were murdered by the Saxons with several others in a general uprising in A.D. 782. (El., But.)
These holy martyrs are also commemorated on January 27.
