SAINT EXUPERIUS, MARTYR
Saint Exuperius was a soldier and companion in suffering of Saint Maurice (Mauritius). He is mentioned by name in the Roman Martyrology*.
The oldest copies of the Martyrology of Saint Jerome* state: the memory of Saint Mauritius with 6666 martyrs (S. Mauritii cum VI. mill. DCLXVI.), which is almost the number given in the biography of Abbot Romanus. His companions Exuperius, Candidus, Victor, Innocent and Vitalis are also listed there.
