ONUPHRIUS FARBER, RELIGIOUS OF LUCERN
Onuphrius Farber, a Capuchin lay brother of Lucern,was born in Constance in 1598. He received the name Jacob at baptism. A weaver by trade, he was quite educated, which led him to compose poems in honour of the Mother of God, to whose protection he most often commended himself. All exercises of piety and monastic life he fulfilled with the greatest zeal. He died with the reputation of sanctity on October 25, 1641. (Burg.)
