BEATRICE HERMOSILLIA, VIRGIN
Beatrice (Beatrix) Hermosillia (March 2), a virgin, gave all her possessions to the poor and lived solely on manual labour and alms. With the help of the citizens of Valladolid, she built a monastery of the Third Order of Saint Francis of Assisi, and in 1462, she and several others took their vows there. She died on March 2, 1485, after a life of the strictest mortification and penance, and was buried in the monastery church.
