SAINT VALERIUS, BISHOP OF CONSERANS

A page of one of Fortunatus Hueber's
Saints' books,
"Stammenbuch..." (1693)

Not much is known from the life of this first bishop of Conserans (Consorannae) [Couseraus]. The French also call him Valier (Vallier). He died in A.D. 504. His relics were rediscovered and solemnly raised under Bishop Theodore. He is listed in the proper of the bishopric of Tarbes.

Saint Valerius is also commemorated on July 9 and February 20.
