Saints celebrated on the 9th of June
SAINT PARILIUS, BISHOP OF CHUR
(S.S. Asimus and Parilius)
Saint Parilius (June 9), the second bishop of Chur, who according to recent research must have lived around the year 460, is also spelled Purilius or Prurilius, is listed among the Praetermissi by the Bollandists*, as they were not sure about certain facts regarding Saint Asimus (Asimo), who is mentioned along with Parilius. Asimus' participation at the synod at Milan in 452, however, is generally no longer disputed by anyone; and the fact that the Bishop Abundantius of Como signed for him. Moreover, the Swiss link Asimus also with the legend of Saint Ursula. It is probable that there were bishops at Chur prior to Saints Asimus and
Parilius, but their names have been lost. Both Asimus and Parilius are listed in the Proper of Chur (II. 148.)
