SAINT ALBINUS, BISHOP OF BRIXEN
The name Albinus is derived from the Latin: Albus = white; meaning: the white, the clean one.
Saint Albinus (Albuinus),commemorated on February 5, Bishop of Brixen (Brixina, Brixino) in Tyrol, was descended from noble parents. He is said to have transferred the episcopal see from Seben (Sebatum, Sabio) to Brixen, to have been highly esteemed by Emperor Henry the Pious, and to have been buried in Brixen. His name is listed in the Roman Martyrology* on February 5 alongside that of Saint Genuinus.
