(1693) Saints Caitius, Quintasius, Septiminus (Septimus), Venustus, Beatus, Secundus, Donatus, Serenus, Crescentius, Nicetius, Vitalis (Natalis), Firminus, Eraclius (Heraclius) and Eusebius were martyrs; most probably they suffered in Africa.   ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN DECEMBER Saints celebrated on the 5th of December SAINT NICETIUS, BISHOP OF TRIER Today, we also commemorate Saint Nicetius . The Roman Martyrology states:  "At Treves [Trier], Saint Nicetius, bishop, a man of great sanctity." PRAYER: Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Nicetius may increase our devotion and promote our salvation.   ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MAY Saints celebrated on the 5th of May SAINT NICETIUS, BISHOP OF VIENNE Saint Nicetius (Nicetas) is commemorated on May 5. This holy bishop of Vienne in France lived around A.D. 375, where he attended the synod of Valence (Concil. Valentinum ). The Roman Martyrology * calls him a man of "venerable holiness."   ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN OCTOBER Saints celebrated on the 1st of October Prayer to the Angels and the Saints Heavenly Father, in praising Your Angels and Saints we praise Your glory, for by honouring them we honour You, their Creator. Their splendour shows us Your greatness, which infinitely surpasses that of all creation. In Your loving providence, You saw fit to send Your Angels to watch over us. Grant that we may always be under their protection and one day enjoy their company in heaven. Heavenly Father, You are glorified in Your Saints, for their glory is the crowning of Your gifts. You provide an example for us by their lives on earth, You give us their friendship by our communion with them, You grant us strength and protection through their prayer for the Church, and You spur us on to victory over evil and the prize of eternal glory by this great company of witnesses.
