ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN SEPTEMBER Saints celebrated on the 1st of September WELCOME! ST NIVARDUS, ARCHBISHOP OF REIMS Nivardus (Nivo), Archbishop of Reims (Rheims), is commemorated on September 1 and February 7. Of noble descent, he was educated at the court of King Clovis II. Rich in virtues, he succeeded Lando, Archbishop of Reims, around the year 649. With zeal and great prudence he advanced his Church in both temporal and spiritual respects, especially in discipline and piety. Since the saint nurtured the desire to build a monastery, he received a heavenly vision in his sleep. Thereupon he founded the monastery at Hautvilliers (mon. Altumvillare). Rich in merit and filled with an ardent desire for eternal bliss, he died a saint around the year 673 or 678 and was buried, as he wished, in the monastery church at Hautvilliers.
