ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MAY Saints celebrated on the 26th of May WELCOME! SAINT PHILIP NERI, PRIEST Saint Philip Neri was born in Florence in 1515. He went to Rome and began to work with young men among whom he fostered Christian life and formed an association for the poor and the sick. Ordained to the priesthood in 1551, he founded the Oratory where spiritual reading, singing, and works of charity were practised. He excelled in his love of neighbour and in evangelical simplicity along with a joyous service to God. Saint Philip died in 1595. PRAYER: O God, who never cease to bestow the glory of holiness on the faithful servants you raise up for yourself, graciously grant that the Holy Spirit may kindle in us that fire with which he wonderfully filled the heart of Saint Philip Neri. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
