  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN NOVEMBER Saints celebrated on the 24th of November SAINT PROTASIUS, BISHOP OF MILAN Today, we also commemorate Saint Protasius. The Roman Martyrology states:  "At Milan, Saint Protasius, bishop, who defended the cause of Athanasius before the emperor Constans, in the council of Sardica. Having sustained many labours for the church entrusted to him and for religion, he departed this life to go to the Lord." PRAYER: Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Protasius may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JUNE Saints celebrated on the 19th of June   WELCOME! SAINTS GERVASIUS AND PROTASIUS, MARTYRS  [Saints Gervase and Protase.] Saint Ambrose calls these saints the protomartyrs of Milan. They seem to have suffered in the first persecution under Nero, or at latest under Domitian, and are said to have been the sons of SS. Vitalis and Valeria, both martyrs, the first at Ravenna, the second at Milan. This latter city was the place which SS. Gervasius and Protasius rendered illustrious by their glorious martyrdom and miracles.  THEY WERE TWIN BROTHERS St Ambrose assures us, that the divine grace prepared them a long time for their crown by the good example which they gave, and by the constancy with which they withstood the corruption of the world.   ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN AUGUST Saints celebrated on the 4th of August Prayer to the Angels and the Saints Heavenly Father, in praising Your Angels and Saints we praise Your glory, for by honouring them we honour You, their Creator. Their splendour shows us Your greatness, which infinitely surpasses that of all creation. In Your loving providence, You saw fit to send Your Angels to watch over us. Grant that we may always be under their protection and one day enjoy their company in heaven. Heavenly Father, You are glorified in Your Saints, for their glory is the crowning of Your gifts. You provide an example for us by their lives on earth, You give us their friendship by our communion with them, You grant us strength and protection through their prayer for the Church, and You spur us on to victory over evil and the prize of eternal glory by this great company of witnesses.
