ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MAY Saints celebrated on the 6th of May WELCOME! SAINT VALERIAN, BISHOP OF AUXERRE Saint Valerian (Valerianus), Bishop of Auxerre, third in the order of succession, is thought to have been the successor of Saint Valerius . Valerian ruled this church for 30 years. He is particularly remembered for having taught Saint Amator . Valerian is documented to have attended the Council of Cologne in 346. His veneration carries on to this day. There once was a large church in Chitry dedicated to his name. He was also venerated at Chateaudun in the diocese of Chartres, where some of his relics were located. The Bollandists * state that Bishop Valerian went to his eternal reward in 364. He is commemorated on May 6 (II. 105).
