Saints celebrated on the 14th of June
SAINT PSALMODIUS, HERMIT
Saint Psalmodius was of an illustrious Irish or Scottish family, and renounced the world to form himself in the school of virtue, under the discipline of St Brendan.
HE RENOUNCED THE WORLD
Following the advice of that holy man, he passed into France, and addressed himself to St Leontius, bishop of Saintes, about the year 630, under whose spiritual direction he made still higher progress in Christian perfection.
HE MADE STILL HIGHER PROGRESS IN SPIRITUAL PERFECTION
The latter part of his life he spent in a little cell in the forest of Grie, in the territory of Limoges. His relics are kept in a silver shrine in the collegiate church of St Agapetus, in Languedoc.
