WELCOME!
SAINT JOANNA THE MYRRH-BEARER, WIDOW
Saint Joanna [Myrrh-bearer], Widow (1st century). St Joanna was the wife of Chuza, house-steward of King Herod Antipas.
She was one of the holy women who accompanied Our Lord in his journeyings and who brought spices and ointments to the Sepulchre on Easter morning (Luke 8:3; 24:10).
Nothing more is known concerning her. The Greeks and Armenians honour her on their Festival of "The Holy Ointment Bearers."

PRAYER:
O God, who gladden us each year by the feast of the blessed Joanna, graciously grant that, as we rejoice in his merits, we may be inspired by his example. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
