Saints celebrated on the 23rd of December
SAINT JOHN OF KANTY, PRIEST
St John was born in Kanty, Poland, in 1390. He was ordained and taught at the University of Cracow for some years before becoming a parish priest at Olkuscz. He was an outstanding teacher of the faith, and his holiness and charity to all were noted. He died in 1473.
PRAYER:
Almighty Father,
through the example of John of Kanty
may we grow in the wisdom of the saints.
As we show understanding and kindness to others,
may we receive your forgiveness.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
