Saints celebrated on the 5th of December

WELCOME!

BLESSED BARTHOLOMEW FANTI

Blessed Bartholomew Fanti was originally from Mantua. As early as 1452 he was a member of the Carmelite Reformers of Mantua. These men strove to prevent a relaxation of the original Carmelite rules, placing a particular emphasis on the former ideals of poverty and solitude.

POVERTY AND SOLITUDE

For thirty-five years he laboured at his local church as Spiritual Director and - having been a most devoted client of the Blessed Virgin for his entire life - as the head of the Confraternity of Our Lady. He passed to his eternal reward in 1495.

PRAYER:

May the intercession of the blessed Bartholomew commend us to you, O God, so that through his merits we may obtain that which we cannot accomplish by our own. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
