Saints celebrated on the 17th of June
WELCOME!
SAINT HERVE
Saint Herve (Herveus) was a 6th century Welsh Saint and Singer, blind from his childhood. His father, Hyvarnion, had taken refuge in Brittany.
A TEACHER AND MINSTREL
There St Herve grew up to become a teacher and minstrel. Idolised by the people, he lived to a great age, dying about the year 575.
In art he is represented as blind, and led about by a wolf.
(From The Book of Saints, 1921, by the Monks of Ramsgate)
