THE PORTIUNCULA INDULGENCE
The Portiuncula Indulgence is the first plenary indulgence that was ever granted in the Church. He who gains the Portiuncula Indulgence becomes as pure as after holy baptism.
THE FEAST OF PORTIUNCULA
The feast of Portiuncula is on August 2. According to the Enchiridion Indulgentiarum, a plenary indulgence is available to anyone who will
- Receive sacramental confession on the day or eight days before or after
- Receive the Holy Eucharist at Holy Mass on August 2nd
- Enter a parish church and, with a contrite heart, pray one Our Father, the Apostles Creed, and prays for the intentions of the Sovereign Pontiff.
