ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JANUARY
Saints celebrated on the 20th of January
ST AENEAS, ABBOT
Saint Aeneas (Aengusius) was abbot at Cluain in Ireland and is mentioned most honourably in the Life of the holy virgin Ida, who is venerated on January 15.
WAS HE EVER PUBLICLY VENERATED?
The Bollandists, while giving him the title 'saint', following the Irish martyrologies, place him among the Prætermissi because they lack evidence of public veneration - the main criterion for listing a person as 'saint'.
