Saints celebrated on the 25th of January
SAINT DWYNWEN, VIRGIN
Saint Dwynwen was a fifth century Welsh Saint of the family of Brychan of Brecknock. The maxim: ”Nothing wins hearts like cheerfulness,” is attributed to her. After a troubled life, she passed away about A.D. 460. Churches dedicated to her are found both in Wales and in Cornwall.
From The Book of Saints, 1921, by the Monks of Ramsgate
PRAYER:
O God, who gladden us each year by the feast of blessed Dwynwen, graciously grant that, as we rejoice in her merits, we may be inspired by her example. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
