ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JANUARY
Saints celebrated on the 6th of January
SAINT MACRA, VIRGIN AND MARTYR
Today, we also commemorate Saint Macra. The Roman Martyrology states:
"In the diocese of Rheims, the martyrdom of Saint Macra, virgin, who, in the persecution of Diocletian, was cast into the fire by order of the governor Rictiovarus. As she remained uninjured, she had her breasts cut off, was imprisoned in a foul dungeon, rolled upon broken earthenware and burning coals, and finally she gave up her soul while engaged in prayer."
PRAYER:
May blessed Macra, Virgin and Martyr, who was ever pleasing to you by the merit of her chastity and by her trust in your power, implore for us your forgiveness, we beseech you, O Lord. Through our Lord.
