SAINT ARISTION OF SALAMIS

Saint Aristion lived in the first century. He was one of the seventy-two disciples of Our Lord. He is mentioned in the Acts of St Barnabas as a companion of the deacon Timon, in the latter’s Apostolic labours in the Island of Cyprus. According to the Greek Menology Saint Aristion was martyred at Alexandria; according to others, at Salamis in Cyprus.

O God, who gladden us with the annual feast of blessed Aristion, mercifully grant that, while honouring the anniversary of his death, we may also imitate his deeds. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
