Saints celebrated on the 28th of March
Prayer to the Angels and the Saints
Heavenly Father, in praising Your Angels and Saints we praise Your glory, for by honouring them we honour You, their Creator. Their splendour shows us Your greatness, which infinitely surpasses that of all creation.
In Your loving providence, You saw fit to send Your Angels to watch over us. Grant that we may always be under their protection and one day enjoy their company in heaven.
Heavenly Father, You are glorified in Your Saints, for their glory is the crowning of Your gifts. You provide an example for us by their lives on earth, You give us their friendship by our communion with them, You grant us strength and protection through their prayer for the Church, and You spur us on to victory over evil and the prize of eternal glory by this great company of witnesses.
Grant that we who aspire to take part in their joy may be filled with the Spirit that blessed their lives, so that, after sharing their faith on earth, we may also experience their peace in heaven. Amen.
BL. JEANNE-MARIE DE MAILLE, WIDOW
Blessed Jeanne-Marie de Maille was born of noble blood on April 14, 1331 and married a nobleman. The couple remained childless since they decided to remain chaste. The pair lived together until her husband died during a conflict in 1362.
THE REVERSAL OF HER FORTUNES
She was then dispossessed by the Sillé family, which meant that she lost everything in terms of material goods and societal standing. Jeanne-Marie then returned to Tours, where in a little dwelling adjacent to the church of St Martin she spent her days in prayer and good works. Later she became a recluse in a solitude near Cléry. Around 1377 she entered the Third Order of St Francis at Tours.
HER PARTICULAR PRAYER INTENTION
Her confessor, Martin de Boisgaultier, the guardian of the Franciscan community at Tours, was her first biographer. She prayed unceasingly for the end of the Western schism and sought to reform the morals of the French court of Charles VI. and Isabelle. Her holy death occurred on March 28, 1414.

O God, who gladden us each year by the feast of blessed Jeanne-Marie, graciously grant that, as we rejoice in her merits, we may be inspired by her example. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
