Prayer to the Angels and the Saints
Heavenly Father, in praising Your Angels and Saints we praise Your glory, for by honouring them we honour You, their Creator. Their splendour shows us Your greatness, which infinitely surpasses that of all creation.
In Your loving providence, You saw fit to send Your Angels to watch over us. Grant that we may always be under their protection and one day enjoy their company in heaven.
Heavenly Father, You are glorified in Your Saints, for their glory is the crowning of Your gifts. You provide an example for us by their lives on earth, You give us their friendship by our communion with them, You grant us strength and protection through their prayer for the Church, and You spur us on to victory over evil and the prize of eternal glory by this great company of witnesses.
Grant that we who aspire to take part in their joy may be filled with the Spirit that blessed their lives, so that, after sharing their faith
BL. PEREGRINE OF FALERONE, FRANCISCAN
Blessed Peregrinus [Peregrine] was a Minorite lay brother at San Severino in Ancona. Born into a noble family at Falerone, hence his surname, he was studying philosophy and canon law at Bologna when one day he heard St Francis preach. He was so moved that he asked to become his disciple. Since he's salvation.
HIS HUMILITY
Because the founder of the order made the exercise of humility a special duty, Bl. Peregrinus did not want to become a priest, although he was well educated enough scientifically.
HIS PILGRIMAGE TO THE HOLY LAND
Out of love for Jesus, whose sufferings he never ceased to contemplate, he made a pilgrimage to Palestine to attend the holy places, to pray and, if possible, to die as a martyr there. But Providence brought him back home safe and sound. He died happily in A.D. 1236 after a life of devotion and death. In 1821, Pope Pius VII confirmed his immemorial devotion.
