Saints celebrated on the 7th of May
ALARDUS, ABBOT
Alardus was previously a monk in Hasnau Monastery. In 1079, he was made abbot of the monastery Achin or Anchin (Aquiscinctum) near Duais in Flanders (by Bishop Gerard of Cambrai).
This office he exercised with such humility that he never allowed himself to be called lord or master, but always regarded himself as the least of the brothers. He died in 1087. (Buc. Suppl.)
