Saints celebrated on the 31st of May
ALDO, ABBOT
The name Aldo derives from the old German Alde, Halde etc., meaning: the servant.
HIS BACKGROUND
Aldo, the second abbot of the Hasnon monastery [Saint Pierre, which was founded in the 7th century] in Belgium, came from a noble family. He was Count of Ostrovandia.
HE RENOUNCED THE WORLD
Following Christ's call he renounced the world and not only left all his estates, but also, with her consent, his wife Dodila. Stripped of everything, he devoted himself entirely to the Lord. The year of his death has not come down to us
