Saints celebrated on the 5th of May
ALEIDIS, VIRGIN AND ABBESS
Aleidis was the first abbess in the monastery of Herzogenthal (Vallis Ducis) near Leuven, and was as distinguished by her natural qualities as by virtue and grace. Some count her among the "blessed," others among the "venerable." She probably lived in the thirteenth century.

In the ninth century Saint Ebba [Æbbe, Abb] governed the great monastery of Coldingham, situated in Merch, or the Marshes, a province in the shire of Berwick, which was for some time subject to the English, at other times to the Scots.
